#68: If you're ever stuck in some thick undergrowth, in your underwear, don't stop and start thinking of what other words have "under" in them, because that's probably the first sign of jungle madness.
So yeah...um..here it goes
The Blog Shack is a little old place where, we can get together...... Blog Shack, baby Blog Shack
Man, it's been a while, I mean it has been a while. But here I am. I'm back from a week off of school and two weeks off of bloggin. I wish I could blog everyday, it's just so hard you see. Maybe I'd quit school and just blog. Yeah thats the ticket.
Anyways, I guess I'll tell you about my week off. It was pretty nice I suppose. I worked til wednesday, which wasn't so bad, then on thursday morning at around 4 am CST my family packed up the buick and headed south for Johnson City Tennessee. Due to frequent stops, we arrived there around 2pm CST. It was an alright trip. My 2 aunts, 1 uncle, and 3 cousins (2 separate families) was sure glad to see us.
That day we ate and ate (at least I did), and then friday we ate and ate. That was about it. I mean we slept too, and hung out and stuff, but the essential aspect of the day was eating. Oh yeah... we watched alot of movies too. My uncle has a satellite dish, so we watched various movies such as Hollywood Homicide (eh), Harry Potter 2 (so ,so), and The Shining (ah uh huh). So it was a good relaxing time. There were many opportunities to get bored, however. This thanksgiving I was really thankful that my phone has text messaging and to Susan, Jon, and Frenzy for writing me back. I wasn't horribly bored except for this one time, on Friday... We decided it would be cool to drive through this way of lights that was at Bristol Motor Speedway. So almost all of my Fam got in 2 cars and drove 25 minutes to get to this light show. So the drive there was boring enough mind you. Then when we get there, you pay 10 dollars for a car full of unexpecting thrill seekers to drive 5-10 MPH through a poorly lit, poorly designed light show. Granted it was pretty cool to get to drive on the race track, partially because my uncle took his truck high up on the side of the track where it turns. Bristol is supposedly known to be one of the hardest tracks to drive on for races because it is sloped so high. So that part was pretty neat. But I almost started freaking out cause I was in the car for like 2 and a half hours looking at lights that are supposed to be great and I didn't want to say anything about how they weren't cause my uncle paid for us to go through.
Then on saturday we had a Surprise B-day party for my aunt Cathy. She was so happy that we all were there to celebrate with her. About 40-50 of her family and friends came to a holiday inn and through her a party. So we did that for about an hour or so and then we headed back home. It was quite a trip (the party and the ride home;)). We left at around 8 pm CST. My pops drove til Nashville and then I drove from Nashville to Belleville. For some reason I try to out do myself when it comes to stuff like that. My mom and dad both offered to take over, but I wanted to drive. It was cool though. It was good practice if I'm gonna be a trucker someday. I also got the opportunity to listen to 2 of Ray Comfort's Sermons on "How to get on fire for God" and "Finding your purpose from God". They were excellent. They kept me awake and I learned a little too. But anyways, we got home at about 5:30 and I then packed to go back to school. I got to school at around 6:30 and was asleep by 7. It was quite an adventure.
So one thing I forgot to mention is that my whole family from TN was either sick or getting over an illness during the duration of our stay. I remember having a conversation with my uncle Danny about how I must have a strong immune system or something cause I haven't really been sick in a while (forgetting that I was sick like 2 months ago). So when I wake up on sunday from my slumber, guess what... I had a temp of 101 and felt like crud. I just kinda wanted to point out the humor in that. I'm feeling kinda better now with a low grade fever and a sore throat, but I'm going to see the doctor on campus tomorrow, so I'll be alright.
In Conclusion, I want to apologize to any of ya'll who read this and got to the end and thought, man what a waste of _______ minutes. But nobody was twisting your arm to read this (at least I hope so), so you really shouldn't complain.
So thanks for being part of my life..
God Bless ya'll,
Andy
