Dude, you're gettin a blog!

1.16.2004

wow it's been a month and a day since the last post. That's a record for me I think. I started to do this blog thing and I told myself that I would try to do at least three times a week maybe if I could, because everyday might get kinda hectic. Ha. Well I'm glad to be back in the swing of things.

Speaking of back into the swing of things... I made it through the first week of classes. They're actually pretty interesting. Well, ok 3 out of 5 are. I have 3 Psychs: Child, Stats, and Theories; and Chinese Culture and a Social work class. It's been kinda hectic cause the Psych classes are gonna require a lot of work and I'm trying to decide if or which one out of the last 2 I mentioned that I want to drop because I don't think I need either and they're too much work for what they're worth. Anyways, I'm trying to figure it out...

Office Max is getting to be kinda hectic too. It's been hard lately for me too be able to function with work and school. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I work til 8:30 and then have classes from 9:30 til 3:15 with only 15 minute breaks in between. I don't want to write this to have anyone who reads it feel sorry for me, or to say that I have a worse situation than someone... if anything, I wouldn't mind a prayer for direction and fluidity (word?) of my schedule.

I really don't want to complain though. I feel as though God has been really good to me. The good I feel and experience greatly outweighs the bad; not to say that I'll never be "down on my luck" or have more bad then good. But the Lord has showed me lately that no matter what happens, when all else fades, I'll still have him. I knew there had to be a verse that applied to what I'm sayin but I couldn't think of any off the top of my head. So I looked in my hand-dandy concordance in my bible. I got a few things.. 1 John 2:17 says: The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. And John 16:33 says: "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." I'm really encouraged by these verses and I'm glad that I found them. But not only that! I have just prayed for calmness and peace about stuff that's happening and lately I haven't really been worried about things. And also just little things like when I got done with praise and worship tonight I got into my car and consuming fire was on by third day... I went to starbucks and when I got out, love song for a savior was playing and it was really awesome cause those are two of my favorite songs... Now granted, I was listening to a Christian radio station, but it was one that doesn't come in all the time and songs like that aren't played really all that often and not together. Anyways, I'm not saying it was a miracle, per say, but I think that God has many ways of speaking to those who seek after him and want what he wants for our lives.

So, I don't know what the answer is for all this, but I can rest assured knowing that God will put me where I can serve him. Hmm that sounds good, rest. I'll do that. Good night, thanks for reading.

God Bless,
Andy Hodges
